If you ever had any doubt that Gervonta Davis wasn’t PPV material he probably made you a believer last night in his hometown, Baltimore MD, when he beat the breaks off of Ricardo Nunez in the 2nd Round. Many are questioning the 2nd Round stoppage stating that Ricardo should’ve had a chance to shake it off and redeem himself and that may be true. However, the sport of boxing is taking new measures to make sure every fighter can leave the ring with their head still on their shoulders.
The same thing happened to Liam Walsh back in 2017 when everyone thought the fight was stopped prematurely but it was a absolute no-brainer for the referee to stop any further punishment from happening to that fighter.
