Pound for pound boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr took to social media to debunk rumors of himself and UFC fighter Conor McGregor agreeing to a mega prize fight. This comes on the heels of several media outlets spreading the false news on the matter, but here’s what the champ had to say about it below.
There seem to be several rumors floating around media recently, however, let the record show, there haven’t been any deals made in regards to a fight between myself and any other fighters. I am happily retired and enjoying life at this time. If any changes are to come, be sure that I will be the first to let the world to know.
History teaches us that if you haven’t heard it from the horse’s mouth you shouldn’t be so fast to hop on a story. Floyd has always been one to let the rumors fly and then come back and say “Yeah, I heard all of that, but did I say it out of my mouth?”
