Smoke DZA links up with the legendary DJ Pete Rock for “Milestone” featuring Jadakiss, Styles P & BJ the Chicago Kid. This comes from their joint project “Don’t Smoke Rock” dropping December 2nd on Itunes, and you can pre-order that project here. How the two hooked up? Well both MC’s are from New York City so it makes a lot of sense.
However, you’re not going to get Pete Rock to work with anybody, and this says a lot about how he feels about Smoke’s lyrical skills. Here’s what the Brooklyn legend had to say about Smoke DZA.
“I’m all for working with the younger generation. Smoke is a younger cat with an old soul, he made me realize that with the beats he picked. [Beats] I thought would go over his head, instead, he would get into some of that soulful stuff. I make beats. Whether you’re young or of age or whatever. As long as you’re dope, you got me.”
