Westcoast Hip Hop legend Ice Cube released a hard-hitting political track today titled “Good Cop Bad Cop” which is off of his Death Certificate: 25th-anniversary album. Many youngsters that are fans of Hip Hop today would never know the impact of Ice Cube’s voice for the voiceless had on our culture.
Back in 1992, the L.A. Riots broke out due to the horrific beating of Rodney King (R.I.P.), and while the nation was up in arms about the matter, it spawned one of the greatest Hip Hop albums of all time according to us and other Hip Hop publications.
Cube strongly believes that new single “Good Cop Bad Cop” still resonates with the times we’re living in.
“Sadly, our community is dealing with many of the same issues,” he explained. “I only hope that young millennials feeling powerless in the ‘hood can channel their own anger and frustration by listening to this record.”
