Back in the day 90’s Hip Hop music promoted a lot of street-life that consisted of poverty, pain, suffering, drug use, drinking, women, and fashion. Legendary rapper Redman had dinner and a conversation with Heather B about the process of making “Dare Iz A Darkside” classic album, and what we didn’t know is what influenced him to make one of the greatest albums of his career.

Well, of course, you know the harsh realities of the streets can give birth to any masterpiece, but what happens when you travel over into the spirit world while recording? What is the spirit world? It’s a place where your mind can reach higher heights beyond average thinking.

Redman said he was loaded off of Angel Dust while recording and producing “Dare Iz A Darkside”, and for those of you that don’t know what Angel Dust is, it’s PCP. Scientist says that Phencyclidine is a hallucinogen that takes you into that spirit world we mentioned in the previous paragraph. Some can use it and some don’t make it back.

Redman was really in a dark space when he made that album but he mentioned that he’s very happy to come out of that place where you learn and see things you can never take back. 8:09 Mark, Interview below.
